GCSE Drawdown USA Scholar

Dharma Santos-Santiago is a recent graduate from the University of Florida. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science. As an NCSE Drawdown USA Scholar, she will help NCSE build and solidify the Drawdown USA network and support interested universities in integrating the principles of Project Drawdown into their Research Undergraduate Experiences (REUs). Dharma will work to develop resources to help interested universities understand Project Drawdown and to foster connections in the United States.

Dharma spent her college career focusing on sustainability research, environmental education, and social justice work. In 2019, Dharma was part of the inaugural Penn State Drawdown REU cohort where she worked on ethical wind energy curriculum for first year engineering students. After graduating, Dharma organized for the Black Lives Matter movement in the summer of 2020. Looking forward, Dharma is pursuing opportunities to enter the environmental policy sphere and plans on attending graduate school to pursue her interests in environmental justice research.
