Richard Moore is the sustainability and climate senior fellow at GCSE. He is also the professor emeritus of the School of Environment and Natural Resources at The Ohio State University. Richard is the lead author for the Alpine Nutrient Trading Program which is the longest continuous water quality trading plan serving an National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System point source permit in the U.S. The program was labeled “the poster child” of water quality trading at a congressional hearing in 2014. He has been the recipient of many awards including the Carnegie Foundation Award for Outreach and Engagement, OSU McGrath/Kellogg Award for Outreach and Engagement, Blue Ribbon Award from Ohio Citizen Action, Holmes County SWCD Friend of Conservation Award, OSU Outstanding International Faculty Award, and OARDC Multi-disciplinary Research Team Award. Since 2015, Richard has been coordinating with GCSE Member institutions in Ohio to create joint efforts, including an annual student-led sustainability conference.
