Coastal adaptation strategies can address disaster risk, reduce social vulnerability, and build social-ecological resilience. Protection, accommodation, and managed retreat are three coastal adaptation strategies. To date, managed retreat has gained greater attention and become the preferred approach to sea-level rise. However, there is a lack of information regarding managed retreat. Visualizations can simulate and provide evidence for both the distribution and prevalence of MR in practice while providing a strong basis for decision-making.
