Solar Reflective Methods: Risk, Uncertainty, and Who Gets to Decide?
Solar Reflective Methods (SRM) refers to proposed approaches — such as injecting aerosols into the stratosphere — that aim to reflect a small fraction of incoming sunlight back to space in order to deal with global warming caused by greenhouse gases
Rather than debating for or against Solar Reflective Methods (SRM), this session will explore what science can—and cannot—tell us while examining the governance, equity, and decision-making challenges surrounding one of the most consequential emerging climate technologies.
